The development of basic methods to extract computer performance and R&D on quantum software
The group identifies issues with the quantum advantage in calculations of quantum chemical and physical properties and builds quantum algorithms to solve these issues. In addition, the group derives basic algorithms for quantum machine learning utilizing quantum computing and expands its use to solve issues. As for a methodology, the group employs high-speed simulators using conventional computers to explore the utilization methods of quantum computers expected to appear in the next five to ten years. The group also designs system architectures to utilize the limited functionality of currently existing quantum computers, and performs software research to enhance the performance from quantum devices.
